Amendment offered by Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) to the bill that includes funding for the US Department of Justice that expressed the sense of the Senate that the civil rights and liberties of all Americans, including Arab-Americans and American Muslims, should be protected in the search to bring the sponsors of the terrorist attacks on the US to justice. It also condemned any acts of violence and discrimination against any Americans, including Arab-Americans and American Muslims. The amendment was adopted.
