Roger Gregory Confirmation to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Confirmation of Roger L. Gregory, of Richmond, Virginia, to a lifetime seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. Judge Gregory, was serving in an interim one-year position after being appointed by President Clinton in December, 2000. He is the first African American to sit on the 4th Circut, which hears cases from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia and has the largest black population of any of the circuit courts. Judge Gregory was confirmed.
