U.S. Chamber of Commerce

U.S.-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement.

The Senate approved the U.S.-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA). The measure, which will enable the U.S. to have normal trade relations with Vietnam, is vital to increasing economic opportunities in Vietnam for U.S. businesses and workers. The Vietnam BTA reduces tariffs and creates greater market access for U.S. goods, farm products, and services. It also protects intellectual property rights and enhances foreign investment. The U.S. Chamber strongly supported the measure because it enables U.S. companies and products to better compete in the Vietnamese market, creating new opportunities that will benefit American entrepreneurs, workers, and consumers.
