Rep. John Hostettler, R-Ind., introduced an amendment H.R. 2944 to ban the use of federal and local funds to carry out an order of the D.C. Commission on Human Rights to reinstate two gay leaders of the Boy Scouts of America and compensate them $50,000 each. The House adopted this amendment.

Rep. John Hostettler (R-IN) introduced an amendment to the District of Columbia Appropriations bill (H.R. 2944) to prohibit the use of any funds to enforce the orders by the D.C. Commission on Human Rights that instructed the Boy Scouts to reinstate two homosexual troop leaders and pay them $50,000 each and that ruled that the Scouts must also pay all attorneys' fees and court costs.
Amendment passed the House.
