Tax Limitation Constitutional Amendment.

Passage of the joint resolution to propose a constitutional amendment to require a two-thirds majority vote of the entire House and Senate to pass any legislation that increases federal revenues except in times of war or military conflict threatening national security. Although this amendment received a majority vote, two-thirds is required to pass a constitutional amendment, so the amendment failed.

With a 2/3 vote required to pass, the House failed to pass H.J. Res. 41, proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States with respect to tax limitations.

Tax Limitation Constitutional Amendment.
