Paul (R-KY) amendment to provide budget reconciliation instructions to repeal consumer protections, including protections for pre-existing conditions and required coverage of essential health benefits, provided by the Affordable Care Act. (Some anti-choice lawmakers cast what appear to be pro-choice votes; most observers recognize that those votes were cast for reasons unrelated to reproductive health.) Failed.

Enzi, R-Wyo., for Paul, R-Ky., amendment no. 1277 to the Enzi substitute amendment no. 1116 that would modify the Senate reconciliation instructions to require the Senate Health, Labor, and Pensions Committee, the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee to report legislation within each committee's jurisdiction that would reduce the deficit by no less than $1 million from fiscal 2018 to fiscal 2027.
