NAACP

CONCEALED GUN CARRY RECIPROCITY BETWEEN STATES.

Final passage of a bill which would permit any individual authorized by their home state to carry a concealed handgun to also carry that concealed weapon in any other state that permits the carrying of concealed weapons. H.R. 38 passed the House; no further action has been taken on the legislation.

American Conservative Union

HR 38 Concealed Carry Reciprocity.

This bill requires states to recognize concealed carry permits held by qualified people from other states while at the same time strengthening reporting requirements by federal agencies of those barred from purchasing firearms. This group supports the founder’s belief in the Second Amendment and supported this bill. The House passed the bill.

The National Rifle Association

Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017.

In a resounding show of support for the Second Amendment, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a legislative package that included H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, and H.R. 4477, the Fix NICS Act of 2017. The bipartisan vote advanced a measure that would allow law-abiding Americans who are eligible to carry a concealed handgun under the law of a state to do so in all other U.S. states and territories that recognize the right of their own residents to carry concealed. Without a doubt, this is the strongest piece of self-defense legislation to ever come before Congress. It would also help shore up the National Instant Criminal Background Check System used for licensing and retail firearm purchases by adding additional layers of transparency and accountability to the system.

Gunowners Of America

Concealed Carry Reciprocity.

One of this groups top priorities is to pass a clean version of H.R. 38, the Constitutional Carry-friendly reciprocity bill, introduced by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC). This group told congressmen that we would score the cosponsorship of this bill -- rather than the vote which occurred in December, 2017 -- because the vote on H.R. 38 only occurred after gun control had been added into the bill.
