National Catholic Social Justice Lobby
Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act (H.R. 3697).
This group opposed this bill because it targets immigrant youth and expands the definition of “criminal gang” to potentially include charities and churches that assist the immigrant community. It puts the burden of proof on the accused to demonstrate that they are not affiliated with a criminal gang and is likely to further divide local police from communities they are meant to serve. Passed.
