The Torres (D-CA) amendment to the Omnibus Appropriations bill increases spending for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, a program that uses taxpayer funds and fees to act as a business consultant to American manufacturing companies. This group opposes this wasteful program that has seen American manufacturing shrink by one-third since the program’s inception in 1988 and opposed this amendment. The House passed the amendment.
