Privacy Policy
Last updated on April 20, 2015.
What Information We Collect
We collect aggregate data about the traffic on our web site. For example,
we track
-
the number of visitors to each page,
- the number of visitors requesting information for a particular member of
Congress or advocacy group.
The aggregate information is anonymous. It does NOT allow anyone to
identify you or your computer.
When you purchase something on-line from VIS such as a membership, the purchase
transaction is handled by PayPal,
our authorized sales agent. After the transaction is completed, we
receive from PayPal your name and contact information. We are NOT given your
credit card information.
NOTE: VIS does not make any statements regarding PayPal's privacy policy except that we will immediately
cease to use their services if we have any reason to believe they do not treat
our visitors' personal data as completely confidential.
How We Use Information We Collect
We do NOT share our visitors' personal information or e-mail addresses with any
third party without the visitors' prior permission.
We reserve the right to use the aggregate data described above as we see fit.
We use the contact information given to us by our visitors (directly or through
our payment processors) to deliver periodic notices about VIS and our services.
To unsubscribe from our mailing lists, please send a message including the name
and e-mail address that we use to contact you to support@vis.org.
Cookies
We use cookies to improve the functionality of our Web site such as
"remembering" user settings (e.g. your VIS Member ID) from the previous visit
or within the same session. Some parts of our site will function properly even
when cookies are disabled. Other areas, such as the Group Unity Scores utility, require
that cookies be supported and enabled in your browser.
If you have any question about this privacy policy, contact VIS at support@vis.org.
